leaving on a jet plane

We're off to Slovenia tomorrow. Shay is starting summer classes at the university in Ljubljana, and I am tagging along for three weeks. Shay has a class schedule, government funding, and a basic grasp on the local language. I have a Lonely Planet guidebook, a camera, a tight budget, and a basic need to visit new places. So maybe the resources aren't evenly distributed between us. But I expect we are still going to have a pretty great time.

I'm planning to blog now and then once I settle in. But there is always the possibility that I'll get lost in a hilltop village with no internet access in sight, and I'll decide to stay forever. So let's get our goodbyes out of the way right now, just in case. Nasvidenje, folks. It's been real.

Silly me, I thought you were already gone. I would have been emailing you a grand farewell if only I knew you still were in reach of electronic equipment. Good luck on your trip! Don't die!

Have fun and know that everyone back here who doesn't get to travel the world as they please is absurdly jealous. Okay maybe just me, but I think pretty much everyone. I don't know.

I'm one of those jealous ones. Have a safe & fun trip!! What is Shay studying that he is taking classes in Slovenia?

I'm jealous too! I hope you have a TON of fun and enjoy yourselves! As for spending the rest of you life in a cute little remote village, if I had the chance, I'd take it! Be careful over there and have a great time!

Have so much fun! I am one of those jealous ones, so say hi to foreign country and peoples for me! Can't wait to hear all about it! And, I just moved down to SLC and Annie and I were playing a good ol round of Yahtzee. I saw some of our old score sheets and remembered many random rendezvous between our apartments - especially the ones concerning window wells, cookies, and broken plates... Anyway, have fun!

Ah ha! And the international travel begins. I wish you lots of grant money in the future so this will not be the last trip to Europe. Looking forward to pictures of the hilltop village!

Shay, will you get to visit your old mission areas? By the way, why are you going to college in Slovenia?
