get excited

It's kind of like Oprah's "Favorite Things" episode, except with less squealing and crying. Also you should know up front that I'm not giving anything away. So basically it's nothing like the Oprah bit. You're still welcome to scream and cry if that's your thing.

I give you: Lex's Favorite Things At This Exact Moment (TM).

Favorite grocery store: Aldi. Will the day ever come when I make it through the aisles at Aldi without causing a scene? Perhaps. But until I can get control of myself, you'll recognize me as the one stopping to marvel with every item I put in my cart. "We need eggs. What? 79 cents? Shay! Hey, Shay! Did you see this?! Large eggs are 79 cents. 79 cents!! I'm not joking."

Favorite card game: Set. It's kind of nerdy. I am in love with it. Shay hates it. Will someone come play it with me?

Favorite snack: Stacy's pita chips. "Simply Naked" is the best of all the flavors, and not just due to its slightly scandalous name. Oh my heavenly snack. These are delicious.

Favorite day of the week: Wednesday. I actually have time to exercise. The crossword puzzle isn't too hard. It's a good day for me at work, schedule-wise. Shay has late class but I eat dinner with him on campus in an eatery that is almost always empty except for the two of us. We sit and talk for an hour over food. It's nice. Wednesdays have gotten good reviews lately.

Favorite voice: Ray LaMontagne's. It's gritty and smooth at the same time. How is that possible? I do have to conjure up my own picture of what he ought to look like when I hear his music, though, because his actual physical appearance is unappealing. The Jesus-era facial hair does not seem to be working for him.

Favorite phrase: "I'm just saying." Actually I think this phrase is silly, but I find myself saying it all the time these days. I guess it's my subconscious favorite now. What does it even mean?

Yeah for Wednesdays! I've never heard of Set, but I'm a huge card game fan too and Jeff is not...bummer.

So I totally love the groundhog cupcakes- seriously too cute!
Take care girl!

Jonny and I will take a road trip and play Set with you. (I volunteer him for lots of trips.) Also, I hate people who say, "I know, right?"! But guess what? No one says it more than me. I hate me.

I love the game "Set!" I have officially come to terms with my inner (and outer) nerd. But, sometime when I am in Kansas (which should be in approximately 4.5 months) I would love to play a round of Set. My family is (or should it be are? hmm...)...I am not going to complete that sentence due to the confusion, but let's just say we like that game! :)

I remember when you and Heid would play Set for hours. I like the game ok, but it's not as good as yahtzee! Just kidding, that addiction has fizzled. I checked out the link for Aldi's, it does look amazing! I want one.

SF. I think you are confused. I'm pretty sure I never played Set until last summer. Maybe you are thinking of that game with the 4 colored pegs that Heid had? Totally different. But yes, still not as cool as Yahtzee. Or checkers.
